Best Time to Sell a House in San Antonio (2026)
By Chris Dudley, San Antonio REALTOR® | Legacy Realty Group, brokered by Real Broker, LLC | TREC #731381
Short answer
In 2026, San Antonio homes sold fastest and at the highest median price in early summer. In June 2026 the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® (SABOR) reported a median price of $329,730 and an average of 77 days on market, compared with about 102 days and a median near $300,000 in February. By September, homes were averaging close to three months on the market again. For most sellers, listing in spring so the home is under contract by early summer lines up with the strongest demand. The right month for you still depends on your home, your neighborhood and your next move.

What this means if you are selling
- Spring prep, early-summer closing. June 2026 had the most sales, the highest median price and the shortest average time on market of the months shown. Getting your home photographed and listed in spring puts it in front of buyers when activity peaks.
- Inventory is high. Around six months of supply, which SABOR describes as a balanced market, means buyers have choices in every season. Price and condition matter more than the calendar.
- Fall and winter listings take longer. February and September averaged 90 to 100+ days, so plan your timeline and your next purchase with that in mind.
- Your area is different. Days on market vary widely between Alamo Ranch, Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, Boerne and New Braunfels. See how long homes take to sell by area.
What this means if you are buying
- Fall and winter bring less competition and sellers whose homes have been listed longer, which can mean more room to negotiate.
- Spring and early summer bring the most new listings to choose from, but also the most buyers.
